BWL-OL-003 is an outdoor water ripple projector that casts a ripple-like pattern of light onto pool water, poolside decks, fountains, walls and planting. It is a 40W, IP65 LED fixture with a one-piece die-cast aluminum housing, made in our factory in Zhongshan, China, and offered in two versions: an APP home version with app and voice control, and a DMX512 professional version for DMX512 lighting control systems.
What is the water ripple lighting effect?
It is a projected light pattern that imitates sunlight shining through rippling water: soft, wavy bands of light and shade across a surface, sometimes called a water wave or ocean wave effect.
Our catalog application scenes for this model are poolside ambience, courtyards, fountain accents and gardens. The effect also suits hotel and commercial grounds built around a pool, fountain or landscaped courtyard.

For this water ripple projector, our catalog gives two separate planning values: a recommended distance of about 16 ft (≈4.9 m) from the lit surface and a coverage range of 538–2,153 sq ft (≈50–200 m²). They are not a paired rating, so the upper end of the range should not be read as the result at 16 ft. The area you actually light depends on mounting height and angle, the surface and the ambient light on site.
IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets; neither version is a submersible pool light. Mount the fixture outside the water and aim it at the water, wall or feature you want to light.

What is the difference between the app and DMX512 versions?
They are controlled differently. The APP home version uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, the Surplife app and Alexa or Google Home. The DMX512 professional version has no Wi-Fi, app or voice control and is run from a DMX512 lighting control system. The LED light source, 40W rated output power, IP65 rating, housing and dimensions are the same.
Is the water ripple effect LED or laser?
LED, not laser. Both versions of this water ripple projector use an LED light source.
How many lights can be controlled together in the app?
On the APP home version, up to 50 lights can be added and synchronized as a group in the Surplife app. The DMX512 professional version has no app and is controlled from your DMX512 system.
Can BWL-OL-003 be used as an underwater pool light?
No. Both versions are IP65, meaning dust-tight and protected against water jets, not submersible. Install the fixture outside the water and aim it at the pool surface or the surrounding landscape.
How much area does one unit cover?
